We are beginning our first full week of the “stay-at-home” order in Linn County, and for many of us this is a very big change. I hope the message today helps you to prepare for what is to come, and find comfort and strength in God above. While we worship at home, my hope is that this isn’t a passive experience.
You can follow along in this bulletin for the service. If you are on a computer, phone, or other mobile device, then you can click on each of the videos as they come up. If you are able, and don’t want to try and share a laptop with your family and you have a smart tv or streaming device connected to your tv, we have good news! We have a YouTube channel. Go to the YouTube app on your TV, search for Marceline UMC. You can subscribe to our channel (which will make it easier to find in the future) and when you do, go to playlists. Every Sunday We’ll have a new playlist set up with prayers, songs, and a message. As you come to each of those in the service you can play that video. With a playlist, as soon as one finishes, the next video starts so that all you have to do is hit pause until you’re ready to play again.
My prayer is that even in this format, we can worship together, and still see God at work.
The video that comes next is a welcome, has a few announcements, and an opening prayer.

Joys & Concerns
We will continue to share our joys and concerns, as well as our prayer requests. Simply follow the link below and fill out the form. If you need to add more, you can fill the form out again. These will be shared with the congregation via email on Monday morning.
Share a joy, concern, and/or prayer request
Start the next video, and enter into a time of prayer.
When directed, take a few moments of silent prayer. Please lift up our community as we continue in our cancellations, shut downs, and the challenges they bring. There will be a pastoral prayer, then you are invited to join in the Lord's Prayer which is below.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen

You can watch the video, or continue the service following along below.
Even though we aren’t meting together our offerings are still important. They are an important part of what we do as Christians, and not just what we do to keep the church open. If you are able to give, please use the envelopes that were sent out, or you can mail a check to the church at:
321 N Kansas Ave
Marceline, MO 64658
If you use online banking you can use your bill pay to send a check from your account directly to the church. You can even set it up so that it will be sent weekly or monthly. Your continued support will help us continue to be in ministry, even during this time.
If you can't contribute monetarily to the church, that's okay. We're entering into a very different time. There are still many ways that you can give that help build God's kingdom by reaching out to others. Look for different ways that you can make a difference.
Before going on to the scripture reading, read the following prayer out loud
Holy God, sovereign over power and pain, glorious triumph and deep disappointment, we enter this holy week bringing our tithes and offerings to your altar and leaving them here in the hope you will send them to make the world a more loving and compassionate place. We are reminded through the scripture that you sent two of your disciples out to make the world ready for your coming: “Go into the village . . . find the donkey . . . tell them the Lord has need.” Remind us that your kingdom breaks into the world not as a spectacle for us to witness but as a parade where we are called to make a working contribution. We pray in the name of the one who comes not just for the parade, but for the cross at the end of it. Amen.
SCRIPTURE READING Luke 19:29-40 (Click the link for the full chapter)
Read the scripture passage out loud to share with one another, or watch the following video.
29As Jesus came to Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he gave two disciples a task. 30He said, “Go into the village over there. When you enter it, you will find tied up there a colt that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 31If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘Its master needs it.’” 32Those who had been sent found it exactly as he had said.
33As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34They replied, “Its master needs it.” 35They brought it to Jesus, threw their clothes on the colt, and lifted Jesus onto it. 36As Jesus rode along, they spread their clothes on the road.
37As Jesus approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole throng of his disciples began rejoicing. They praised God with a loud voice because of all the mighty things they had seen. 38They said,
“Blessings on the king who comes in the name of the Lord.
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heavens.”
39Some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, scold your disciples! Tell them to stop!”
40He answered, “I tell you, if they were silent, the stones would shout.”
Reader: This is the word of God, for the people of God
Everyone Else: Thanks be to God!
Please join in singing our next song "God of Wonders" After the song, continue on to the sermon in the following video.
Before continuing on to the final song for today. Take a moment to pause and reflect on what has been said, and on where we are today.
How is God telling his story through you?
In a season of unexpected things, what has been the most unexpected for you?
What is God telling you through this?
Please join in singing the final song "I Love to Tell the Story" after is it is finished, play the benediction.
Go in peace, and may God be with you through this next week, Amen.
