From whichever platform your participating in worship today, let us know in the comments that you're here. Say hi! And say something about how God has added to your life

As you are a part of our online worship, it is a recording of our previous week's in person worship service. We do that so that we can share in a higher quality of worship together. Even though the service is recorded, Pastor John is down in the comments of the service every weekend.

What comes next follows the same order of service that is used during in person worship.

Opening Prayer
Gracious God,
We give you thanks
for all the ways that you bless our lives:
the beauty and abundance of nature,
the love of family and friends,
the joy of knowing you and hearing your word.
Send Your Spirit during this time of worship
so that we might dream your dreams
and see visions of the world as you created it to be.
Guide our thoughts and actions.
Bring us closer to you so that we might do your will
and dwell in your house forever. Amen.

O Spirit of the Living God--UMH 539

Children's Message--Pastor John

Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, Witness
As people of faith, we share who we are with each other. Below I invite you to share your joys and concerns, your prayer requests, and your offerings. You can use the link below, or in the comments

Share a joy, concern, and/or prayer request

Remember that you can mail in your offerings to:

Marceline UMC
321 N Kansas Ave
Marceline, MO 64658

You can also give online.

Take some time for some personal prayer, and take some time to give. This could be the time when you go online, or you write a check to the church, or when you make that commitment to give in a different way.

After the personal prayer, I'll say a prayer (if you're watching the video), and then join in saying the Lord's Prayer below.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen

Scripture Reading
Our scripture reading for worship is Acts 2:43-47
As you are able, please stand for the reading of God's Word.

42The believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers. 43A sense of awe came over everyone. God performed many wonders and signs through the apostles. 44All the believers were united and shared everything. 45They would sell pieces of property and possessions and distribute the proceeds to everyone who needed them. 46Every day, they met together in the temple and ate in their homes. They shared food with gladness and simplicity. 47They praised God and demonstrated God’s goodness to everyone. The Lord added daily to the community those who were being saved.

Leader: This is the word of God, for the people of God
People: Thanks be to God!

Today's Message: The Lord Added
Pentecost tells the story of God at work, and God's call on us to share what we have so that others can see him at work too
There's a Spirit in the Air--UMH 192

Benediction
Move among us, O God, and gather us together with you.
Take our many selves—our lives, our loves, our ideas, our questions, our speech, our silence—and unite us as your people.
Give us the gifts of perception and understanding,
so that even as we dream your dreams and see your visions, we may be able to witness to your presence in our common life.
Let us do this in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
