From whichever platform your participating in worship today, let us know in the comments that you're here. Say hi!
As you are a part of our online worship, it is a recording of our previous week's in person worship service. We do that so that we can share in a higher quality of worship together. Even though the service is recorded, Pastor John is down in the comments of the service every weekend.
What comes next follows the same order of service that is used during in person worship.
To start today, will you say this prayer with me
Come Holy Spirit, come show us how we can be the spiritual heart of this community
I'm glad to be worshiping with you today!
We're finishing our Faith Filled Life series with this service as we're taking a look at what our future holds.

I'll say the words in regular type, and please reply with the words in bold
Leader: All heaven and earth proclaim the majesty of God’s creative power!
People: Praise God for the amazing and awesome beauty.
Leader: God has given to us codes by which to live together in harmony and peace.
People: In these commandments, God has summed up the ways we must respect one another.
Leader: Rejoice in the goodness of God.
People: Praise God for God’s complete and steadfast love for us. Amen.

We worship you, O God, as Creator and Liberator. You led the captives out of Egypt, delivering them from the oppression of slavery. You gave laws which enabled people to relate to you, to one another, and to the whole creation. You implored people to worship only you, knowing that whatever was put in your place would all to easily become the object of idolatry, and the priority of people’s hearts. You showered us with blessings by revealing in Jesus just how precious we are to you, and through him you delivered us into a new and living relationship with you and with one another—with a new commandment—a commandment of love. May we reveal the depth of our love as we praise and adore you, O God, in Jesus name and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, Witness
As people of faith, we share who we are with each other. Below I invite you to share your joys and concerns, your prayer requests, and your offerings. You can use the link below, or in the comments
Share a joy, concern, and/or prayer request
Remember that you can mail in your offerings to:
321 N Kansas Ave
Marceline, MO 64658
You can also give online.
Take some time for some personal prayer, and take some time to give. This could be the time when you go online, or you write a check to the church, or when you make that commitment to give in a different way.
After the personal prayer, I'll say a prayer (if you're watching the video), and then join in saying the Lord's Prayer below.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen
Our scripture reading for worship is Deuteronomy 5:1-6
As you are able, please stand for the reading of God's Word.
1Moses called out to all Israel, saying to them: “Israel! Listen to the regulations and the case laws that I’m recounting in your hearing right now. Learn them and carefully do them. 2The LORD our God made a covenant with us at Mount Horeb. 3The LORD didn’t make this covenant with our ancestors but with us—all of us who are here and alive right now. 4The LORD spoke with you face-to-face on the mountain from the very fire itself. 5At that time, I was standing between the LORD and you, declaring to you the LORD’s word, because you were terrified of the fire and didn’t go up on the mountain.”
The LORD said:
6I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
Leader: This is the word of God, for the people of God
People: Thanks be to God!
Because Thou Hast Said--UMH 635
Today's Message: Where We Begin
The start of the 10 Commandments sets the stage for us as to why they are still important today, not so that we can make sure everyone sees them, but so that we can live by them through faith in Jesus Christ.
Wonderful Words of Life--UMH 600
Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with your most gracious favor, and further us with your continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in you, we may glorify your holy name, and finally, by your mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Now let us go in peace, to be your people and know you are God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
