Welcome
Today is a good day to worship! We're glad that you are worshiping with us. The theme of this service is looking forward. We know that things will not go back to the way that they were. Our challenge is in what we do from this point going forward. Let that thought work its way into your prayers as we worship today.
You can follow along in this bulletin for the service. If you are on a computer, phone, or other mobile device, then you can click on each of the videos as they come up. If you  have a smart tv or streaming device connected to your tv, go to our YouTube channel and then go to playlists. Every Sunday We’ll have a new playlist set up with prayers, songs, and a message. As you come to each of those in the service you can play that video. With a playlist, as soon as one finishes, the next video starts so that all you have to do is hit pause until you’re ready to play again.

My prayer is that even in this format, we can worship together, and still see God at work.

Peace,
Pastor John

The video that comes next is a welcome, has a few announcements, and an opening prayer.

Prayer
Start the next video, and enter into a time of prayer.
When directed, take a few moments of silent prayer. Please lift up our community as we continue in our cancellations, shut downs, and the challenges they bring. There will be a pastoral prayer, then you are invited to join in the Lord's Prayer which is below.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen

Children's Message
Who is Nehemiah? Don’t worry, you don’t have to try and spell his name. He was an Old Testament prophet who listened to God, and talked to God all the time. Take a look at his story, and how listening to God and talking to God are really important for us to do too.Who is Nehemiah? Don’t worry, you don’t have to try and spell his name. Offering
We’re going to start trying some different things to help us stay engaged in our church life, grow in our faith, and reach out to other people, and these are all things that can be done even in the weird world we live in right now. How can you be a part of doing this things? These are part of the gifts that you can give.

Thank you for your continued offerings to the church, and to the many other places around us that you’ve been giving of your time and your money. Remember that you can mail in your offerings, or you can give online. Your gifts and commitment to your faith help us reach out and tell Jesus’ story in so many different ways.  Will you pray with me,

Mighty God, our comfort and our strength: we have been navigating through this pandemic with anxiety and isolation. We have lived in fear of disease, death, and not having enough. Yet, we are here, offering our gifts to the work of your kingdom and reminding ourselves of the glory about to be revealed to us. Remind us that we are your children, that we are your heirs. Remind us that your plan is not bondage or decay but a love that will save us and free us. In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.
Scripture Reading: Amos 9:11-15
11On that day I will raise up the meeting tent of David that has fallen, and repair its broken places.
I will raise up its ruins, and I will rebuild it like a long time ago; 12so that they may possess what is left of Edom,as well as all the nations who are called by my name, says the LORD who will do this.
13The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when the one who plows will overtake the one who gathers, when the one who crushes grapes will overtake the one who sows the seed.
The mountains will drip wine, and all the hills will flow with it.
14I will improve the circumstances of my people Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them.
They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; and they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
15I will plant them upon their land, and they will never again be plucked up out of the land that I have given them, says the LORD your God.

Liturgist: This is the word of God, for the people of God
Congregations’ Response: Thanks be to God!

Will you join in singing our next song
Reflection Questions
Take a few moments to reflect on where you need new perspectives on things. Also, don't forget to read through Amos 9 a few times this week, and let those words work on you, don't try to work on them.

When you're ready, join in singing our final song.
Benediction
Read this prayer from the end of Jude

To the one who is able to protect you from falling,
and to present you blameless and rejoicing before his glorious presence,
to the only God our savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,
belong glory, majesty, power, and authority,
before all time, now and forever. Amen.
