As I get older, I get more and more ready for Spring each year. That may come as a surprise to some of you. My love of Winter is fairly well known, but it isn't as much as it used to be. This Spring in particular, I am really ready for.
This month we will marking one year since everything changed. One year since we shut down and everything stopped. Even though it has only been a year, it feels like it has been so much longer. So many things that were cancelled, so many others that were changed, and still others that went ahead despite our worries of them. For this, it's good that we are in the season of Lent, and we can take this time to process all that has happened.
This is a time when we can look to the start of Spring and new life. We are coming to a time when we can look to Easter in a way that we haven't before. We have a deeper feeling of what it must have been like during that time from Good Friday to Easter morning when the world seemed to hold its breath.
We are coming into a time when we are releasing that breath and starting to look at what comes next. What comes next won't look like what we were before. Some of that is a lament that we will lift up, but other parts of it are opportunities to celebrate. Those things come together as we see what new path God has set in front of us.
We are entering into a new time as a church and as a community. I believe that what comes will be greater still. In this newsletter we'll have more information about Holy Week and Easter, and about some new things that are coming our way. As the weather warms up our worship will be changing again so that we can gather all of us together.
As we go through this month, watch for more news, information, and opportunities to gather and grow in faith. I'm looking forward to what is coming, and I hope that you are too.
